Historiens grymmaste folkmord inträffade 1932-33 i Ukraina.
Miron Dolot, som bor i USA, har skrivit en ögonvittnesskildring av händelserna. Från upptakten 1929 till våren 1933, då han som ung tonårspojke bodde i en stor by 14 mil söder om Kiev, och upplevde den terror som stegvis ledde fram till katastrofen.
Författaren uppskattar antalet döda till 7 miljoner.
Boken heter “Execution by hunger” och är mycket välskriven, spännande och hjärtskärande. Den beskriver de små människornas desperata kamp mot en övermäktig fiende och en totalt ointresserad omvärld.
Än idag erkänns inte detta folkmord officiellt av Sverige.

The cruelest genocide in history occured 1932-33 in Ukraine.
Miron Dolot, living in USA, has written an eyewitness account of the famine. From 1929 to the spring of 1933, as he was a young teenage boy living in a large village 10 miles south of Kiev, facing the terror which gradually led to the catastrophe.
The writer sets the number of dead to between 5 and 7 million.
The name of the book is “Execution by hunger” and it is very wellwritten, exciting and painful to read. It describes the farmers and their families in their desperate struggle against a superior enemy and the total lack of help from the rest of the world.
Yet today this genocide is not officially recognised by Sweden.
